Judy Kaminsky, LMFT
Because of the many misconceptions about psychotherapy, you may be reluctant to try it. It can feel scary and overwhelming to share your deepest secrets and feelings with a total stranger. However, I provide a safe and supportive environment for you to identify, understand, and communicate the issues, feelings and behaviors that are bothering you. I inspire insight, self-awareness, and positive change- the change that you have been desperately struggling to accomplish on your own. Responding to challenging situations with healthy coping skills and taking control of your life are essential to your overall health and well-being.
I help people understand, express, and manage their emotions more effectively, change their self-defeating actions into positive ones, and find more constructive ways to deal with their problems. They leave feeling empowered.
I work collaboratively with couples in Plymouth Meeting and the surrounding areas to improve their method of communicating so that they can feel better heard and understood. I advise them on how to convey their painful emotions, wants, and needs more openly to each other in ways that promote support. I also teach couples strategies to resolve their ongoing conflicts and solve what seem like insurmountable problems. They come away feeling more emotionally and physically connected.
Parenting Education
I counsel parents on ways to implement effective discipline and set limits, promote positive self-esteem, and establish healthy, open lines of communication.
